SALEM — E. “Jane” Morgan, 82, of Salem, Illinois passed away on October 14, 2022, at Salem Township Hospital.

Born December 27, 1939, in Salem, she was the daughter of Alfred E. and Effie Jane (Williams) Thomas.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 18, 2022, in the chapel of Sutherland – Rankin Funeral with Pastor Steve Fox officiating. Burial will follow at Summit Prairie Cemetery.

Visiting hours will be from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Monday at the Sutherland – Rankin Funeral Home, P.O. Box 97, 310 N. Broadway, Salem, IL 62881 618-548-1234 entrusted with the family’s care. Memorials may be made to Summit Prairie Cemetery, Marion County Fair Association or the donor’s choice and will be accepted by the funeral home. Jane united in marriage with “Don” Morgan, on May 29, 1959, in Kell, IL and he preceded her in death on January 29, 2020.

A wonderful homemaker and farmwife, Jane was active in the Illinois Pollette Hereford Association and a long-time member and officer of the Marion County Fair Board. She also loved cooking and baking for family and friends and enjoyed scrapbooking.

Surviving are her children, Ric Morgan and wife Kim, and Lisa Babbs and husband Kevin all of Salem. Also, grandchildren Megan (Jared) Klier of Iuka, IL, Miranda (Brian) Buss of Downs, IL. and great-grandchildren Matthew Thompson, Addy Klier, Greysen Klier, Morgan Klier, Aubrey Buss and Carley Buss. Also left to mourn her passing are several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her loving husband, and parents, she was preceded in death by brothers Robert Thomas, Bill Thomas, and sisters “Tommie” Adams, Earline Kohrig and Helene Blain.
