Audrey Elaine Plante (Cravens) died at 4:45 PM, Thursday 10/13/22 at Herrin Hospital, Herrin, IL.

A graveside memorial service will be held Saturday, October 22, 2022 at 10:30 AM at St. Nepomucene Catholic Cemetery in Dahlgren, Illinois. Father Vincent Obi will be officiating. Audrey Plante was born May 3, 1932 in Wayne City, IL to Owen P. and Hilda E (Ripplinger) Cravens. Audrey grew up on the family farm in Dahlgren, Illinois. After graduating from Dahlgren High School, Audrey was a legal secretary for many years. Audrey married Leo G. Plante on November 26, 1956. Audrey was a devoted military wife to Leo during his thirty years of service in the U.S. Marine Corps. All those who spent any time with Audrey knew that she was the life of the party. She was quick-witted and spontaneous with her jokes. Audrey loved a good auction and enjoyed collecting her treasures and antiques. An avid Bingo player and a former accordion player – Audrey sure loved a good time.Audrey is survived by a son, David Plante of Pekin, IL. One brother, Charles Cravens of Dover, AR. One sister, Yvonne (Ken) Ray of Marion, IL. Two grandsons, Daniel and Jacob Plante of Pekin, IL; along with nieces and nephews that loved her dearly. She was preceded in death by Leo, her husband of 60 years;  her parents and two brothers: Norman and Mickey Cravens.
