CENTRALIA — Danny Ray Hixenbaugh, 57, of Centralia, passed away Saturday, October 1, 2022, surrounded by his family.

He was born April 29, 1965, in Centralia, the son of Billy Dean Hixenbaugh, Sr. and Clara (Owens) Edwards. He married Sherri Brink on March 1, 2006, and she preceded him in death on September 16, 2012.

Danny is survived by two brothers and five sisters: Major Dale E. Hixenbaugh and wife Major JoAnn of Rockford, IL, Marie Hixenbaugh of Centralia, Charlene Hays and husband Steve of Sandoval, Patti Hutton of Centralia, Sandy Shipley and special friend Bruce Tettemer of Salem, Cristy Buchanan and husband Wesley of Wayne City, and Jason Hixenbaugh of Centralia; best friend and nephew: Chad Little of Centralia; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents: Billy Dean Hixenbaugh, Sr. and Clara Edwards, wife: Sherry Hixenbaugh; a sister: Debra Hixenbaugh Newman; a brother: Juvenile Hixenbaugh; three brothers-in-law: Gary Shipley, Dale N. Knolhoff, and Daniel Joseph Hutton.

Danny worked at the Downtown Lounge as a cook. He was a member of The Salvation Army.  Danny enjoyed being outdoors, hanging out in the garage listening to music, and having a cold beer. He cherished the time he spent with his family, friends and his fur baby: Lucky.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, October 7, 2022, at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Centralia with Captain Joseph Hixenbaugh officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family and will be accepted at the Sutherland-Garnier Funeral Home at 235 North Sycamore Street Centralia, Illinois, 62801, 618-532-3523, who is honored to be of service to the Hixenbaugh family.
