SALEM — Runae C. Woodward, 77 of Salem, Illinois passed away at Doctors Health and Rehabilitation Center in Salem, with her loving family at her side.
Born March 8, 1945, in Joliet, Illinois, she was the daughter of John F. and Lizzabell (Bruce) Vonch.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, in the chapel of Sutherland – Rankin Funeral Home, P.O. Box 97, 310 N. Broadway, Salem, IL 62881 618-548-1234, entrusted with the family’s care. Burial will follow at the East Lawn Cemetery in Salem with Pastor Ben Wyatt officiating.
Visiting hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials be made to the Donor’s choice and will be received by the funeral home.
A loving mother and “Grams,” her family remembers her as a true lady of God with unconditional faith and a kind, generous, patient heart. She attended Odin Assembly for many years, and presently worshipped at Open Arms Fellowship in Salem.
Runae was united in marriage with Darrell E. Woodward, on October 15, 1978, in Joliet, and he preceded her in death on October 29, 1995.
Survivors include her daughters, Jenny (Matt) Gura and Jeanette (Billy Hilzhauser) Phillips both of Kinmundy, IL, Jackie (Jeff Bailey) Neff of Woodlawn, IL and Rhonda (Steve) Griffin of Kell, IL, along with grandchildren Stephanie (Ben) Johnson, Christopher (Jessica) Hardie, Kayla (Joey) Purdy, Candice Griffin, Tyson (Lacey) Neff and Kasey (Ryan) Gambill. Also Great grandchildren Maisie, Eli, Ellie Mae, Rylee, Ally, Kynlee, Ben, Noa, CeCe, Kaya and Ethan.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by sisters Elsie and Barbara.
