Margie Poole, 84, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away at 6:02 pm September 18, 2022 at SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Mount Vernon. She was born December 21, 1937 in Fairfield, Illinois to the late Lawrence Fyie and Edith Mary (Hutchcraft) Wilson. Margie married Fred Poole on October 12, 1958 in First Presbyterian Church in Mount Vernon, Illinois.

In addition to her beloved husband of sixty-four years, Margie is survived by her daughter, Susan Renee Cralley and husband, Douglas Kent of Woodlawn, Illinois; granddaughter, Renee Elizabeth Zoll and husband, Joshua of Woodlawn, Illinois; brother, Gene Wilson and wife, Glenda of Wilson, North Carolina; one niece; and four nephews.

In addition to her parents, Margie was preceded in death by her brother, William Wilson and infant sister, June Wilson.

Mrs. Poole was of the Presbyterian Faith and loved butterflies. She will be greatly missed.

A Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 4, 2022 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois. A Funeral Service will begin at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn, Illinois. Memorials may be made in Mary’s honor to the American Cancer Society.
