Gary L. Karcher, 77, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away at 12:15 pm August 21, 2022 at Aperion Care Center in Fairfield, Illinois.

He was born September 9, 1944 in Oregon City, Oregon to the late Leo and Dorthea Karcher.

Gary is survived by his children, Mark Karcher and fiancée, Holly King of Mount Vernon and Kelly Dawn Williams and husband, Brian of Waltonville, Illinois; grandchildren, Logan Mark Karcher of Mount Vernon and Kaylan Elizabeth Derrington of Saint Louis, Missouri; great-grandchildren, Kasen Karcher, Kimber Karcher, and one on-the-way; and sister, Beverly Wells and husband, Dean of Sims, Illinois.

In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by his brother, Rodney Karcher.

Gary worked at H.G. Williamson in Wayne City for many years. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters since 1973. Gary enjoyed working on cars over the years. He was a loving father, grandfather, and brother. He will be deeply missed.

A Graveside Service will be held Thursday, September 1, 2022 at 1:00 pm at Saint John’s Cemetery in McLeansboro, Illinois with Mr. Marty Mills officiating. Interment will follow.
