Charlotte Francis (Threatt) Turner, 82, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, died at 4:28 am August 30, 2022 at her home surrounded by her family. She married Donald E. Turner on April 13, 1957 in Corinth, Mississippi. They have been married sixty-five years.

She was employed for several years at Woolworths in Mount Vernon, Illinois. Later her and her husband, Don owned and operated Turner Propane Service for years here in Mount Vernon.

She was born October 26, 1939 in Horse Creek, Jefferson County, daughter of Paul Threatt and Ferne (Atkinson) (Threatt) Stull.

Charlotte was a people person and loved her family dearly. She enjoyed reading, collecting frogs, and playing cards. Charlotte loved her family dearly, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her husband, Donald Turner; son, Randy E. Turner of Mount Vernon; daughter, Robin E. Turner of Mount Vernon; granddaughters, Amanda (Hocking) Karrick and husband, Kenneth, Heather Nichole (Hocking) Williams and husband, Matt; great-grandkids, Emily Hocking and fiancé, Chad Edwards of Jacksonville, Illinois, Matthew Hocking, Cassy Hocking, Justin Karrick, and Sullivan Williams; step great-grandsons,  Braeden Williams, Cameden Williams, and Chaz Karrick all of Mount Vernon; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, James Roy Threatt and Joe F. Threatt; sister-in-law, Janice Threatt; great-niece, Ashley Akin; great-nephew, Levi Hughey.

She was a member of Harmony Missionary Baptist Church.

A Visitation will be held Thursday, September 1, 2022 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois. A Funeral Service will be held Friday, September 2, 2022 at 10:00 am at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois with Reverend Jason Webb and Reverend Merle Fullerton officiating. Interment will follow at Bethel Cemetery in Mount Vernon, Illinois. Memorials may be made in Charlotte’s honor to Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
