Peggy Sue Bauer, 63, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away at 12:40 pm August 19, 2022 at her home with family by her side.

She was born August 21, 1958 in Spring Valley, Illinois to Lester and Betty (Walker) Ulrich. Peggy married Mark Bauer on August 4, 2008. They just celebrated their 14th year of marriage. In addition to her loving husband, Peggy is survived by her children, Janet Brant and husband, David of Bluford, Illinois and Ed Wiser and wife, Katrina of Riverton, Illinois; grandchildren, Sadie Allain, Cassandra Allain, Marissa Brant, Kimberly Gielda, Calista Wiser, Victoria Smith, Morgan Belsley, Janey Brant, Adrian Gielda, Nikolai Gielda, and Lincoln Gielda; thirteen great-grandchildren; siblings, Walter Ulrich, Larry Ulrich, Dorothy Hart, Janet Guth, and Sharon Filer; and many nieces and nephews. Peggy was preceded in death by her parents and granddaughter, Emily Smith. Peggy attended the United Covenant Church in Mount Vernon. She loved life and everyone she met. Peggy never met a stranger. She adored her children and grandchildren and loved them more than life itself. Peggy will be deeply missed.

A Visitation will be held Saturday, August 27, 2022 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon.
