MARION COUNTY — The Marion County Health Department has announced the death of a Marion County man who had tested positive for COVID-19.

According to the health department, the man was in his 80s, was not a long-term care resident, was vaccinated and was hospitalized at the time of his death.

His death brings the total number of COVID-related deaths in Marion County to 214. His was the second COVID-related death in Marion County this month after approximately three months without any.

Currently, there are four Marion County congregate care facilities in outbreak status.  One facility has four positives; one facility has seven positives; one facility has nine and one facility has 16 positives
