SALEM — Donald Bruce Jackson, 80, of Salem, Illinois passed away July 18, 2022, at SSM St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia, IL.

Donald requested a simple cremation. There will be no public visitation or service. A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. Entombment will take place at the East Lawn Cemetery in Salem. Memorials may be made to the Donor’s choice and will be accepted by the Sutherland – Rankin Funeral Home, P.O. Box 97, 310 N. Born October 23, 1941, in Louisville, KY, he was the son of Orville A. and Emma (Odem) Jackson.

He was married to Jo-Anne Lawson in Louisville, KY and she preceded him in death on June 26, 2016.

Donald was a retired pressman for Salem Gravure, Division of World Color Press in Salem with 30 years of service. He was honored to have been named a Kentucky Colonel. He was a member of St. Theresa of Avila Catholic Church in Salem.

Surviving are his children, Joseph D. Jackson and wife Kelli of Salem, IL, Bruce A. Jackson of Centralia, IL and Karen Watson and husband Rick of Nashville, TN, along with grandchildren Ryan (Chelsie) Watson, Blair (Jake) Hamilton, Jolie Jackson and Catherine Jackson. He also has two great-grandchildren, Ozzy and Penny.
