Bishop Ron Trout, 80, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away on July 15, 2022 at his residence in Mount Vernon, Illinois.

He was born December 2, 1941 in Mount Vernon, Illinois to the late Ralph and Laura (Chapman) Trout. Ronnie married Sharon Kay Trout and she preceded him in death on December 22, 2007. He then married Kay (Shores) Trout on May 23, 2009 in Mount Vernon, Illinois.In addition to his wife, Ron is survived by his daughter, Kathy Sims and husband, Bobby of Mount Vernon, Illinois; sons, Kevin Trout and wife, Lisa of Mount Vernon, Illinois, Kevin Lisenby and wife, Sally; grandchildren, Kable Sims and Nathan Timm, Brogan Sims and Megan, Joshua Trout and Emily, Jacob Trout and Katie, Jamie Hardy, Ashleigh Smith, Danielle Abbott, Jaylee Lisenby; great-grandchildren, Makenna, Noah, and Emma Timm, Beck Sims, Eli and Nora Trout; sister, Sherry; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and first wife, Ronnie was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Shasta Blare Sims and several brothers and sisters. Ron proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He dedicated his life to ministry and retired as a minister from the Church of God. Ron was currently serving as the pastor at Second General Baptist Church in Mount Vernon. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and will be greatly missed.

A Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 19, 2022 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Newell Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois. A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at 1:00 pm at Newell Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois with Pastor David Shores and Minister Harol Whitlock officiating. Interment will follow at Kirk Cemetery in Ina, Illinois.
