SOUTHERN ILLINOIS (WBC/DANA COMM.) — Gov. JB Pritzker will make a few stops in southern Illinois today.

The governor will be at the Benton Municipal Airport at 9:30 a.m. to announce the widening of Interstate 57 through Southern Illinois, funded by the historic Rebuild Illinois capital plan.

Then at 11:30, the governor will be at the Alto (AL-toh) Pass Community Center and Village Hall on Elm Street to announce funding for new wastewater infrastructure in the Village of Alto Pass.

At 12:30, the governor will be at the Carbondale Warming Center on East College Street where he will join with labor leaders to tour the Carbondale Warming Center and help unload donations ahead of the holidays.

And at 1:45 p.m., the governor will attend the groundbreaking of the new Walker’s Bluff Resort and gaming expansion on the lot southeast of the Tasting Room at Walker’s Bluff on Meridian Road in Carterville.
