MARION COUNTY, IL — Marion County Resident Judge Mark Stedelin granted a motion Tuesday to reduce bond for a 39-year-old Salem woman accused of allegedly robbing Salem fast food manager at gunpoint. Bail had been set at $1 million for Christina Lewis who remains in the Marion County Jail on a Class X felony charge of armed robbery.

Judge Michael McHaney had set Lewis’ bail at $1 million following her October arrest. Judge Stedelin on Tuesday agreed to reduce that bond to $150,000 with the added condition that she not own or possess a firearm.

According to Salem police, they apprehended Lewis as she was leaving a side door of Wendy’s restaurant with a loaded pistol and a bag of money. Police reportedly received a 911 call from an employee who arrived for work and said she heard cash falling then saw a female with a gun in her hand pointed at the manager. The suspect reportedly had demanded the money from the cash registers and what was in the manager’s office. A nearby Salem police officer arrived within one minute of the call and took Lewis into custody without incident. She’s remained in the Marion County Jail since her arrest and would have to post $17,500 bond to gain release.

Lewis is next due to appear on the charge January 6th, 2022, for a final pre-trial hearing.
