MARION COUNTY, IL — A traffic stop Wednesday night on State Route 161 led to the arrests of two men on drug charges.

Bail was set at $10,000 Thursday in Marion County Court for the passenger, 52-year-old Allen Phillips, of Centralia, on charges of Class 3 felony possession of less than 3-grams of methamphetamine and misdemeanor resisting a peace officer. The driver, 51-year-old Bruce Nauert, of Walnut Hill, was charged Thursday in Marion County Court with Class 3 possession of meth and was released on a $10,000 recognizance bond. He was additionally charged with multiple traffic violations including driving while license suspended or revoked, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and expired registration.

Both Phillips and Nauert were transported to the Marion County Jail.
