CENTRALIA, IL — A train/vehicle crash early Saturday morning on Shattuc Road at Hugo Road resulted in the death of a 45-year-old Centralia man. Few details have been released at this time but reports indicate the call first came in around 1:44 a.m. Saturday to the Hoffman Fire Department of the crash.Clinton County EMA was dispatched for traffic control and had both Shattuc and Hugo roads closed for several hours for cleanup and crash reconstruction.

The impact of the crash was apparently strong enough to knock the train off the tracks.
