Kimberly Kaye Bruce, 55, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away on January 24, 2021 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. She was born November 5, 1965 in Fairfield, Illinois to James “Jim” and Roxie (Garrett) Pilcher. Kimberly married Roy Bruce in February 1988.
In addition to her loving husband of nearly thirty-three years, Kimberly is survived by her mother, Roxie Pilcher of Mount Vernon, Illinois; daughter, Ashley Bruce-Hawkins and husband, Jonathan of Mount Vernon, Illinois; son, Tommy Joe Bruce and wife, Taylor of Dix, Illinois; grandchildren, Dylan Garrison and Noah Hawkins; and sisters, Tina Simmons and husband, Bruce of Texico, Illinois, Jamie Pilcher of Mount Vernon, Illinois.
Kimberly was preceded in death by her father, James “Jim” Pilcher and brother, Shawn Pilcher.
Mrs. Bruce loved her family dearly. She enjoyed being a stay at home mother and raising her children. One of her greatest joys were her grandchildren. She was a member of East Salem Baptist Church. Kimberly will be dearly missed.
A Visitation will be held Friday, January 29, 2021 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois. A Funeral Service will begin at 1:00 pm with Mr. Jerry Willis officiating. Interment will follow at East Salem Cemetery in Mount Vernon, Illinois. Memorials may be made in Kimberly’s honor to the Bruce family in care of Roy Bruce.
