PERRY COUNTY, IL — An accident involving a pedestrian and a vehicle Tuesday night in Perry County claimed the life of a Pinckneyville man. According to Illinois State Police, 38-year-old Jeremy Lueker and 46-year-old Shelly Steinwagner of Highland were both going north on Illinois 127 south of Primrose Road when Steinwagner struck Lueker around 6 p.m.

All lanes were shut down for just over five hours during the traffic crash investigation. All lanes reopened around 10:20 p.m. ISP says charges are pending investigation.
