Mildred Webb, 90, a resident of McLeansboro, Illinois, passed away Thursday, December 31, 2020 at Hamilton Memorial Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.
She was born November 10, 1930 in McLeansboro, IL to James and Mary (Griffith) Ray. She married Darrel Webb on July 3, 1948 and he preceded her in death. Mildred worked in the Laundry Dept. at Hamilton Memorial Hospital for several years as well as the Hamilton Memorial Nursing Home. She was also a home maker and a dedicated member of the First General Baptist Church in McLeansboro.
Mildred is survived by her son Neal Webb of Evansville, IN; daughter Janet and husband Dan Simmons of McLeansboro, IL; three grandchildren: Danyelle and husband Steven Douglass of Walpole, IL, Chassity and husband Darin Rose of McLeansboro, IL and Bruce Webb of Evansville, IN; four great grandchildren: J. D. Rapp, Zachary Rapp, Madye Douglass and Ryland Douglass.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers: Ralph and Charles Ray and one sister, Hazel Carr.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, January 3, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church with Rev. Jacob Gray and Rev. Robert Sefried officiating. Visitation will be held Sunday, January 3, from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church. She will be laid to rest in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Per CDC guidelines masks are required and social distancing will be observed.
Memorial donations may be made to Autism Awareness or the March of Dimes and will be accepted at the Gholson Funeral Home or the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church.
