David Lee Musgrave, 74, passed away Friday, November 27, 2020 at his home near McLeansboro, Illinois.

He was born in McLeansboro, IL on May 19, 1946 to the late Marion Cecil and Goldie (Coats) Musgrave.  David was a distinguished U.S. Army Veteran having served during the Vietnam War, where for his actions in combat, he received the Purple Heart, Bronze Star, Vietnam Service Medal with three Bronze Service Stars and the Army Commendation Medal with two Oak Leaf Clusters.  After serving his country David worked for the Caterpillar Corp. in Peoria, IL as a tractor repairman and was an active member of American Legion Post 1126 in Springerton, IL, VFW Post 3851 in Carmi, IL and the McLeansboro Eagles Aerie 2699.
David is survived by his companion Barbara Murdach of McLeansboro, IL; brother Ansel and wife Barbara Musgrave of Owensboro, KY; two uncles and one aunt.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at 12:00 p.m. at the Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro with Revs. Robert Sefried and Eric Ragan officiating.  Visitation will be Wednesday, December 2 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at the Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro.  He will be laid to rest at Old Springer Cemetery near McLeansboro with Graveside Military Honors performed by American Legion Post 106 and a U.S. Army Military Honors Team.  Per CDC guidelines masks are required and social distancing will be observed.
