MARION, IL — A lot of area events have been cancelled this year due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, but there’s one event in Marion that will happen this year but just a little later than normal.
Ed Davis, a Vietnam Veteran and president of the Veterans on Parade organization, says he didn’t know if this year’s Veterans on Parade honoring our veterans and first responders was going to happen or not with the number of COVID-19 cases being reported in southern Illinois.
This is the 16th year for the parade that will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 17th at Marion Junior High School and finish with a memorial ceremony to honor those who paid the ultimate sacrifice at the Williamson County Fairgrounds.
For more information or to register for the parade, call Ed Davis at 618-967-9415 or email edward2791@att.net or visit the Veterans on Parade Facebook page.
