MT. VERNON — The Mt. Vernon Township High School Board approved the tentative 2020-2021 budget Monday night at its August board meeting.
The budget is now on display for 30 days before a public hearing is held before it is formally approved at the September board meeting.
MVTHS Superintendent Melanie Andrews says the administration to a conservative approach to the budget with the times we are in.
Also at Monday’s meeting, the board approved a lease agreement with the Franklin/Jefferson Special Education Cooperative regarding hosting students at the new Invictus Academy in the Old H Building.
The board decided to table action on building tennis courts at the new campus. Andrews said the lowest bid received is good for 60 days, giving the board time to review the bid and possibly act on it at the next board meeting, set for September 21st at 7 p.m. in the MVTHS board room.
