EAST. ST. LOUIS — A 37-year-old Centralia woman pleaded guilty Tuesday in federal court in East St. Louis to charges of illegal possession of firearms by a felon.
According to court records, on August 5th, 2019, the Carlyle home of Linzie Pracht’s boyfriend was broken into and firearms and a safe were stolen. The firearms included a .38 caliber Smith and Wesson revolver, .22 caliber Carl Walther, and a 12 gauge Browning shotgun.
When contacted by the police, Pracht reportedly said she wasn’t involved in the burglary of her boyfriend’s home but she could get the weapons returned. A few days after the burglary, the surveillance system at her parents’ home showed her carrying the stolen firearms from a vehicle into the house.
She later told officers again that she wasn’t involved in the burglary but she did have possession of the weapons. She also admitted she knew that as a felon she was prohibited from possessing weapons. Pracht is scheduled to be sentenced in the case November 5th at the federal courthouse in East St. Louis.
Pracht is still facing a charge in Marion County for possessing a controlled substance and charges in Clinton County for possession of drugs and drug equipment.
