FRANKLIN COUNTY — Franklin County Sheriff David Bartoni says a Du Quoin woman is facing charges involving an ongoing investigation into the theft of U.S. Mail and the forging of financial documents and other forms of identification.
Thirty-year-old Juanita C. Crews is charged with one count of identity theft – a Class 2 felony, two counts of forgery – a Class 3 felony and three counts of mail fraud – a Class 3 felony.
The sheriff says detectives served a search warrant at Crews’ home in rural Du Quoin Friday. Additional charges and arrests are pending.
The sheriff’s office was assisted by the Benton Police Department, the Perry County Sheriff’s Office and the Brentwood, Tennessee Police Department.
