SALINE COUNTY — Three people have been arrested in connection with the death of a Eldorado man reporting missing in early May.
42-year-old Troy Gwaltney, 30-year-old Richard Emerson, and 22-year-old Toria Emerson, all of Eldorado, have been arrested for concealment of a homicidal death in connection with the death of 32-year-old Chase Mitchell.
According to Illinois State Police Division of Criminal Investigation Zone 8 officials, human remains were located Tuesday in rural Gallatin County. On Wednesday, those remains were identified as Mitchell. Mitchell was reporting missing to Eldorado Police on May 5th.
Gwaltney, Richard Emerson, and Toria Emerson were formally charged in Saline County Court Thursday with concealment of a homicidal death, a Class 3 Felony.
Charging documents allege all three defendants, between April 15 and June 9, concealed Mitchell’s homicidal death by transporting his body for the purpose of disposing the body.
All three are being held in the Saline County Jail. A bond hearing has been set for the three on Monday.
