HARRISBURG — The Harrisburg School Board has approved plans for a drive-thru graduation ceremony to be held for the Class of 2020.

According to Nikki Williams with the Harrisburg School District, the date is yet to be determined, but it will be held at the Saline County Fairgrounds and it will be similar to the feel of a drive-in movie.

All spectators will be required to stay in their vehicles for the entire ceremony. Anyone that exits their vehicle for any reason will be forced to leave.

All speeches will be given as scheduled. Seniors will be lined up in a designated area and will drive their vehicle to the stage, exit their vehicle and walk up on stage and receive their diploma. A vehicle will be provided for those students who do not have a vehicle.

Our sister station, WEBQ, will broadcast the ceremony live, so those in attendance can listen to the ceremony on the radio or roll down their windows and listen to the sound system.
