ASHLEY, IL — A 32-year-old Missouri man is being held in a Missouri Jail on unrelated charges but is considered a person of interest in the February murder of an Ashley, Illinois man.
According to Washington County authorities, the Sikeston, Mo., man is being held without bond in the Scott County Jail. A multi-state, multi-agency investigation has connected the man with David G. Woodrome’s February 9th, 2020 murder at his Ashley home.
This Missouri man, whose name has not yet been released, was arrested on charges of assault in the first degree and armed criminal action in Reynolds County, MO, on April 8th.
The Washington County Sheriff’s Department continues to work with Missouri and other law enforcement agencies on the ongoing homicide investigation.
Woodrome was found dead at his home on February 9th, after a friend went to check on him since he had not been seen for more than three days at a local business he frequented. The Washington County Coroner’s office pronounced him dead at the scene.
