JEFFERSON COUNTY, IL — The Health Department has been notified of 1 additional positive case of COVID-19 for a male Jefferson County resident in his 70s who is in isolation at a local hospital.

There have been 10 lab-confirmed positive cases of the novel coronavirus in Jefferson County and one death.

Public Health officials expect more positive cases to be confirmed locally. The number of cases can be reduced by adhering to the stay at home order, washing hands frequently, disinfecting commonly touched surfaces, and maintaining space of at least six feet from others.
