CARBONDALE, IL — A Carbondale man is facing several charges after Carbondale Police responded to the 300 block of South Marion early Sunday morning regarding a man threatening others with a handgun.

According to a Carbondale Police report, officers learned that 27-year-old Montavious Burton entered a home occupied by others and threatened them with a handgun. Burton eventually left the home and left in a car.

During the investigation, officers located the vehicle and Burton. Officers arrested Burton and charged him with aggravated assault, unlawful use of weapons, disorderly conduct and criminal damage to property. Burton posted the required bond and has a pending Jackson County court date.
