IRVINGTON, IL — Centralia police responded Sunday afternoon to a report of a stabbing in Irvington. According to early reports, just before 2:30 Sunday, a domestic incident at a mobile home in the 800 block of South Darlene Drive in Irvington resulted in a man being stabbed.

An ambulance responded but the victim’s condition is unknown at this time. Washington County authorities requested Centralia police assist in securing the scene. The suspect left the scene before law enforcement arrived but did leave the alleged weapon behind.

About an hour after the initial call, CPD officers apprehended the 41-year-old male suspect in the 900 block of South Second in Irvington. They held him at gunpoint while calling for EMTs to check injuries he apparently suffered during the initial altercation.

A second altercation stemming from the original was later reported in the 200 block of South Third Street in Irvington.

The address on South Darlene is listed with Illinois State Police as the residence of a registered sexual predator but it’s not known at this time if the registered individual was the stabbing victim.
