Elsie L. Pearce, 80, a resident of Eldorado, Illinois, passed away Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at Wabash Christian Village in Carmi, IL.

She was born January 11, 1940 in Hamilton County, IL, the daughter of Paul and Eva (Smothers) Short.  Elsie was a home maker.

Elsie is survived by her husband, Jewell E. Pearce of Eldorado, IL; two sons: Robert (Amy) Pearce of Eldorado, IL and Joel (Sheila) Turrentine of Brownsville, IL; two daughters: Linda Hancock of Eldorado, IL and Donna (Brad) Johnson of South Carolina.  Nine grandchildren also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, Bennie Turrentine; one brother, Floyd Short, and a granddaughter.

Funeral services will be held Friday, February 7, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at the Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro with Rev. Robert Sefried officiating.  Visitation will be Friday, February 7 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. at the Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro.
