SOUTHERN ILLINOIS — After what was a record breaking wet year in 2019, Mother Nature could bring between 3-5 inches of rain Thursday through Saturday across Southern Illinois.

Mike York with the National Weather Service in Paducah says flooding could exceed beyond flood-prone areas with this storm.

York says this system is the start of a number of forecasted systems that will move across the area in the coming weeks. He says flooding risk could be high for at least the next month.
