WASHINGTON, D.C. (RFD) — The split is mostly along party lines in Illinois as to whether President Donald Trump should be impeached. One Southern Illinois Republican says Speaker Nancy Pelosi and House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler upon announcing Articles of Impeachment against the President “are motivated by politics, not principles.”
Congressman Mike Bost of Murphysboro says he will oppose the Articles of Impeachment because “there is no crime.”
If approved by the whole House before Christmas break, the Senate could take up the question in January. Bost expects the House to vote this week.
