CENTRALIA, IL —- A 32-year-old Centralia man who says he’s homeless was arrested by Centralia police for allegedly making 21 false 9-1-1 calls to Centralia dispatch Thursday night.

Travis Pokojski was charged Friday in Marion County court with Class 4 felony making a false complaint to 9-1-1.  The charge claims that Pokojski knew that his calls could result in an emergency response.

According to Centralia police, Pokojski locked himself in a bathroom at Circle K but after exiting the bathroom he was taken to SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital to be examined.

He then reportedly locked himself into another bathroom while at the hospital and again called 9-1-1.  Pokojski was subsequently arrested and taken to the Marion County Jail.

Bail during Friday’s hearing was set at $1,500 and he was scheduled for a November 9 preliminary hearing and first appearance with an attorney. Pokojski, however, informed the court he does not want an attorney.
