FRANKLIN COUNTY — The Franklin County Board has approved authorizing debt certificates for the new courthouse and Campbell Building projects.

Board Chairman Randall Crocker says these are being sold to help finance a portion of the projects.

As for collecting revenue from the one percent sales tax Franklin County voters approved earlier this year to pay for the new courthouse, Crocker says no money is coming in yet.

Crocker added that the taxes collected in July won’t be sent to Springfield until October. That’s when the county will start seeing a monthly allocation or check for that.
