CARMI — A Macedonia man was arrested Monday night on various charges after Carmi Police stopped him in the 1300 block of Oak Street for only having one headlight and a loud exhaust.
Police say during the stop, they found that 22-year-old Kaiden M. Akin’s vehicle registration was suspended, his driver’s license was suspended, he did not have proof of insurance and had an active Hamilton County arrest warrant for burglary.
Akin was placed under arrest and taken to the White County Jail.
During an inventory of the car, officers found two open beer cans in the floorboard and a small plastic baggie with a powder residue that later tested positive for methamphetamine.
Akin was issued several traffic citations and charged criminally with unlawful use of property, possession of methamphetamine and driving while license suspended. No bond was set on his charges. However, a $300 bond was set for the Hamilton County warrant according to the police report.
