Raymond Gale Boone, 88, of Mount Vernon, Illinois passed away at 6:00 P.M. August 5, 2019 at his residence. He was born March 15, 1931 in Jefferson County, Illinois to the late Raymond Albert Boone and Opal Edna Beal (Gerard) Boone. He married Helen Lorene Tennyson on June 7, 1949 in Mount Vernon, Illinois and she preceded him in death on August 27, 1976.
A Visitation will be held 1:00 to 3:00 P.M. Sunday, August 11, 2019 at Newell Funeral Home, 601 S. 42nd Street in Mount Vernon, Illinois. A Funeral Service will begin at 3:00 P.M. with Reverend Les Sinks officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Mount Vernon at a later date. Memorials, in Gale’s loving memory, may be made to the Helping Hands Ministries Food Pantry.
