Bessie Viola Thorne, 81, of Mount Vernon, Illinois passed away at 12:00 A.M.July 21, 2019 at her residence in Texico, Illinois. She was born December 29, 1937 in Matoaka, West Virginia to the late Samuel Carl and Susie (Shuler) Rutledge. She married Elmer Wayne Thorne on June 24, 1954 in Matoaka, West Virginia and he survives in Texico.

A Visitation will be held 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois. A Funeral Service will be held 1:30 P.M. Thursday, July 25, 2019 at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois with Pastor David Houseworth officiating. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Mount Vernon, Illinois.
