WEST FRANKFORT — The West Frankfort City Council is expected to discuss with possible action a proposal from Lunsford Architects, Inc. for the new City Hall project when it meets Tuesday night at 6 at City Hall.

Back in March, the city accepted the Main Street property donation from Banterra Bank. Mayor Tom Jordan said at that time that it is his intent to turn the former bank property into a new City Hall and make the present City Hall the police station.

It’s not known at this time when this will happen.

Other items on Tuesday’s agenda include approving resolutions appointing a paid on-call volunteer firefighter to the city’s fire department and a city codes officer, closing the 100 block of North Jackson Street for E.R. Brown’s annual street sale this Thursday through Saturday, discussion and possible action on demolishing certain properties under provision of the Illinois Municipal Code and placing a stop sign at the intersection of East Garland and South McClelland streets facing east and west.

The meeting is open to the public.
