DU QUOIN — While some people are planning a boycott of the Du Quoin State Fair because of the Confederate Railroad controversy, the area’s State Representative Terri Bryant wants people to understand who a boycott would most affect.
Bryant says there is a double standard to cancelling Confederate Railroad for confederate flags on an album cover while still allowing Snoop Dogg to perform at the fair in Springfield even with controversial images of President Trump on one of his album covers. But she says a boycott of the Du Quoin State Fair will most hurt residents of Southern Illinois who had nothing to do with the Confederate Railroad decision.
Bryant met with officials from the Governor’s office Monday on the issue. She says the decision to cancel Confederate Railroad came from the Governor’s office, and not from local fair officials.
