WILLIAMSON COUNTY — A Mt. Vernon man was sentenced to three years in the Illinois Department of Corrections after pleading guilty to burglary – a Class 3 felony – in Williamson County Monday.

Williamson County State’s Attorney Brandon Zanotti says 36-year-old Adam J. Wasik will serve one year of mandatory supervised release following his release from the IDOC. Wasik has a criminal history out of Franklin County and Missouri.

Zanotti says in October 2016, Marion Police officers responded to a reported burglary on Holmes Street. Surveillance video from a nearby business led the investigation to Wasik, who had also been working on a construction project at the Holmes Street address.
