WILLIAMSON COUNTY — A Herrin man was sentenced to four years in the Illinois Department of Corrections after pleading guilty to unlawful possession of a controlled substance – a Class 4 felony – in Williamson County Monday.

Williamson County State’s Attorney Brandon Zanotti says 29-year-old Jonathan Pendall’s charges stem from a 2014 drug investigation handled by the Southern Illinois Enforcement Group (SIEG).

Pendall is currently serving a sentence in IDOC out of Franklin County for theft and meth possession. Pendall has a criminal history including a residential burglary conviction out of Sangamon County.

Pendall will serve one year of mandatory supervised release following his release from the IDOC.
