MT. VERNON — The Mt. Vernon Police Department is investigating the second bank robbery this month.

According to MVPD, at 11:35 a.m. Monday, their Dispatch Center received a report of a robbery which had occurred at First Mid bank at 400 S 34th St.
They reported a white male had entered, robbed the bank, and left.

Mt Vernon Police Detectives, Mt Vernon Patrol Officers, and Jefferson County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the area and scene.

A Mt Vernon Police Department Crime Scene Technician also responded to the scene to process the scene for evidence.

The suspect is described as a taller white male, wearing a red construction hard hat, light-colored long sleeve shirt, dark pants, sunglasses, and wearing a fake beard. The suspect was last seen walking southeast from the bank.

MVPD responded last Monday to a report of a bank robbery at People’s National Bank in the 500 block of Main Street. The suspect in last week’s bank robbery is described as a black male, in his early 20s, approximately 5-feet four inches tall, wearing a black hoodie and black jeans.
