MT. VERNON – Two Mt. Vernon business owners have been presented the Illinois Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) Blue and Gold Award for their long-time support of local law enforcement.

“Talia Campbell and Tom Givens have been proud supporters of local law enforcement and have extended that support to the FOP when we have met in Mt. Vernon,” said FOP State Lodge President Chris Southwood. “They have worked tirelessly with local FOP members to improve the relationship between cops and community.”

The Blue and Gold Award recognizes non-member organizations that have shown great generosity and support to the FOP. Campbell owns A Pocket Full of Sunshine special events space and Givens owns Indian Hills Golf Course. Both venues have hosted and supported FOP events.

The Fraternal Order of Police, founded in 1915, is the largest organization of sworn law enforcement officers in the United States. With a proud tradition of officers representing officers, the FOP is the most respected and most recognized police organization in the country. The Illinois FOP, chartered in 1963, is the second largest State Lodge, proudly representing more than 34,000 active duty and retired police officers – more than 10 percent of all FOP members nationwide.
