CARMI, IL — Two Norris City residents were cited on drug charges following a traffic stop in Carmi Wednesday afternoon.
Carmi Police arrested 28-year-old Joseph Abell on Main Street around 2:10 p.m. for driving on a revoked license after the officer viewed him driving and knew it was revoked.
A search of Abell and the vehicle revealed several illegal cannabis pipes and an amount of cannabis.
Abell was taken to the White County Jail and charged with driving while license suspended or revoked – a misdemeanor.
Abell and his passenger, 27-year-old Morgan E. James, were both issued citations for possession of cannabis and possession of paraphernalia.
Abell bonded out to $150 and a $20 booking fee was collected on the misdemeanor. James did not go to jail.
