CARMI — A McLeansboro man is facing drug charges following a traffic stop in Carmi late Sunday night.

Carmi Police say 41-year-old Brian Zoph was pulled over after an officer ran his registration and driver’s license information and found out Zoph’s license was suspended and he was the only person the truck was registered to.

After taking Zoph into custody, the officer found a pouch containing paraphernalia with residue that later tested positive for meth while inventorying the vehicle.

Zoph is charged with driving while license suspended possession of meth and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was taken to the White County Jail.

Court records show Zoph had a preliminary court appearance Monday. Zoph is scheduled to have an arraignment in White County May 20 at 10 a.m.
