MCLEANSBORO — At Tuesday’s special called McLeansboro City Council meeting, the council suspended without pay Light Superintendent James Joiner after he was accused of allegedly stealing city property.

Joiner will be on leave until further notice so the allegation can be investigated. The council would not comment on details regarding Joiner’s suspension.

The city also made a motion to SUSPEND working with Universal Inc., Source 1, LD Supply and Universal LLC as they are part of the ongoing investigation.
