Larry G. Flota, 51, of Mt. Vernon passed away Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at SSM Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon.

Larry was born July 22, 1967, the son of Edward G. & Cora Flota.

Larry was a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church in Mt. Vernon. He worked at Kroger’s for almost 17 years as a bagger. Larry was very special to many people as well as Family & Friends. He will be missed by all who knew him. He was truly a blessing to be around.

Step-Brother: Michael Flota of Palm Coast, FL

Aunt: Charlotte Dollar of Herrin

Uncle: Jim Dollar: of Herrin

Grandmother: Uldean Motsinger of Herrin

And Aunts, Uncles & Cousins

Special Friends: Tommy Stief, Phillip Kennedy & Tommy Hockert

Larry was preceded in death by his Father-Ed Flota, by his Grandfather-Gale Flota, Grandmother-Maxine Flota, Uncle-Brad Flota, Great-Grandmother-Chloe Tripplett, and by Grandmother-Wanda Gooden.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, April 13th at the First Free Will Baptist Church in Mt. Vernon with Bro. David Shores & Bro. Mike Gillock officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Woodlawn. Visitation will be after 11:00 A.M. on Saturday at the Church.

The Johnston Funeral Home in Ina is in charge of arrangements.
