MT. VERNON — The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is being proactive in preparing for any possible incident at a county school. With reported mass shootings on the rise in recent years, Sheriff Jeff Bullard is working with county schools in both training and preparation for a worst case scenario.
Bullard says he is working with every county school to have a live security feed from the building routed directly to the central dispatch center if needed in an emergency.
