BENTON — The Franklin County Board will hold a special meeting Monday at 4:30 p.m. at the Campbell Building on the Benton Square.

The purpose of the meeting will be to begin the planning to complete remodeling of the Campbell Building for the Franklin County Clerk and Treasurer’s Office and construction of a new Franklin County Courthouse.

Voters Tuesday approved a one percent sales tax that will generate revenue for the courthouse project.  The sales tax will last no longer than 15 years. It will sunset when the new courthouse is paid off.

Also, the Franklin County Courthouse will close at 3 today for employee training.
