MT. VERNON — Bail has been set at $200,000 for a 32-year-old Mt. Vernon man arrested Wednesday on a Jefferson County warrant charging him with predatory criminal sexual assault.

Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Jonathan R. Bieniek at a home in the 700 block of Eighth Street in Mt. Vernon.

Bieniek was transported to the Jefferson County Jail where he remains awaiting the formal filing of charges in court.

The warrant was secured following an investigation led by Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department detectives that was opened December 7, 2018.
